Wow, long time no update. (I know, I probably say that every time...)
Well, this time I have an important announcement to make, although you've probably already heard via elevenses. I'll just copy and paste from that post:
I hate to do it, but I honestly just don't have the time nor the will anymore: all of my fanfiction should be considered dropped from now on (I'm going to post a notice on ff.net and SoA as well). This isn't to say that I might not, in the near or not-so-near future, get a stroke of inspiration and end up wrapping up the stories I have going. But at this particular point in time, that doesn't seem likely, and it isn't fair to whatever readers I have left to keep them hanging indefinitely like that. So I might end up taking them all down from ff.net and SoA (and probably archiving them at tathar_fic)... In fact, I think that is what I'll do. I'm really sorry that it's come to this, but I don't think there's anything I can do about it.
Let it be known, though, that if anyone would like to pick up on any of my unfinished stories, you are more than welcome to do so (just please run it by me first!). Neither of my two main ones (ASL and "Folly") had too much left to go.
I really am very, very sad that I have to do this. And yes, I'm going to archive all of my WIPs here, so expect a lot of posts as I get 'em up chapter by chapter. (They'll be grouped together by title in tathar_fic's memories.) I hope to begin that tomorrow, but I know better than to make promises now. :P
Again, I'm very, very sorry to disappoint you all! Hopefully someday I'll be able to pick them up again and finish them.
*hugs* ~ elevenses

Linkin Park - "Somewhere I Belong" |

Sheesh, it's been so loooooooong since I last posted anything here! I really need to get back to writing more often. Which I plan to do over the summer, since the only schoolwork I'll have are my correspondence course studies and Algebra. But for the moment, I do actually have a chapter to post today. A chapter of another new story, admittedly, but a finished chapter nonetheless. I thought I'd post it over here before FictionPress.com to see what people think of it.
Title: Raven Crest (until I think of something better >_<) Rating: G, at the moment. Setting: Medieval England and Wales. (Maybe around 1200. I haven't figured out the date completely.) Summary: Two recently orphaned young boys journey across England and Wales to find their grandfather, with only a name and a family ring to go by. Warnings: 1. Don't expect frequent updates (as if I update anything frequently!) on this one. It's sort of a filler right now for whenever I don't feel like/can't work on my other stories. 2. I'm trying out a somewhat different writing style here. I don't know if anyone will notice, though.
( Chapter One... )
Please read and leave a comment! (That just doesn't have the same ring to it as "Read and Review!" :P)

Sheesh, it's been ages since I updated this journal! I have been busy in that time, however. Of course, my definition of "busy" could be debated, I'm sure... No, no fanfic (but I'm working on my upcoming chapters of ASL, "Folly" and "Bless Them", I swear!) It's original fiction this time. I know, you're probably sick of that, but how am I supposed to pursue writing as a part-time career if I don't try coming up with my own stories? :P
This one is called (for now) "The Once and Never Prince", and the summary on fictionpress.com is: The tale of two brothers, Talagan - brave and kind, a skilled Elven warrior - and Gedin - quiet and gentle, trained as a Healer. Together they face betrayals, battles, and a struggle for a lost kingdom.
It's PG for the moment, but eventually it might get up to PG-13 for violence. (Muahahaha!) Can you believe it, I've finished the first two chapters in just a little over two weeks, and I've already begun on Chapter Three?! Definitely record-breaking for me. :D Obviously there's a lot some Tolkien influence in it - but hey, I'm writing about Elves, and while mine might differ from Tolkien's in many ways, it's just not possible to write a fantasy story without taking a lot of inspiration from Tolkien! :-\
I would appreciate very, very much any comments and/or criticism you have to offer, as feedback really does make me write faster! (No comments on how long it's been since I've updated "Folly", please. :P)
Okay, enough babbling. Click here to read!
(Also, my profile there has been updated quite a bit, and I'm going to be using it to keep people updated on the status of upcoming chapters. I'll have to start doing that at ff.net, too...)

I've finally started being productive - well, sorta. I still haven't finished "Bless Them", or your picture, Mel, but I have been making progress. And I have three new Gamgee-centric plot bunnies for adoption, free to good homes!
1. What were Hamfast’s first years working as gardener to Bag End with Holman, and how did he meet and start courting Bell? 2. What did Hamson and Halfred do during the War?What about their sisters? 3. What were Hamson and Halfred’s reactions to Sam returning a hero, Mr. Frodo doing the same (and losing a finger) and coming back so changed? And to Mr. Frodo’s leaving Middle-Earth?

Yup, it's a short, weird prologue-thingy that popped into my head along with a new set of characters the other day. :P
( Prologue... )
And Chapter Three is going well, so hopefully that'll be up soon, along with Part Two of Bless Them (almost done!), Chapter Two of All the King's Horses, Chapter Ten of Folly of the Wise, and Chapter Twenty-Seven of ASL! *pant, pant* Whew, I better get my lazy muse back to work.

Yup, Tathar is starting another non-fanfiction story. *sigh* I know I shouldn't, but I'm being completely overrun by rabid plot bunnies so I've decided to just let them have their way and get all these ideas out of my system. :P
So here's the summary for the latest one:
It's 1812. The Penninsular War is underway. Colonel Lord Frederick Brighton and his horse, Windsor, are returning to the frontlines of battle after a lengthy rest at home due to the Colonel's wounding. Windsor is eager to get back into the action and excitement of battle, but once they rejoin Wellington's army he finds much more than he bargained for...
All righty then, can't delay the inevitable...
( Chapter One! )
Please review! :D

Hanson - "Yearbook" |

At long last, after much nagging from mom, I have finished chapter two! It's about two pages shorter than I'd expected, but it introduces a very important character. Very important. Hint, hint. ;)
Anyway, here 'tis:
( Chapter Two... )
I already have chapter 3 roughly lined out, so hopefully that will be up shortly. I plan to start it as soon as I finish chapter 26 of ASL!
Hope this one did not disappoint... please tell me what you think!
